Arsenal chief Raul Sanllehi is keen on Massimilano Allegri, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

Allegri was said to be in the running for the job when Arsene Wenger left the club, but a bad interview was said to have left the Emirates Stadium hierarchy on edge with regards to an appointment (via The Daily Star).

He was later appointed manager of Tottenham, leading them to one second-place finish and a Champions League final.

There’s no reason why a mixture of a translator and tactical nous from Allegri can’t be a success for the north London giants, should the former Juventus manager take over.

However, what some people fail to realise is the Basque-born manager seemed adamant he wanted to speak English, seen in every interview he ever did while at the club.

On the face of it, Allegri seems like a man who can work his magic with the squad in north London.

Mauricio Pochettino is the first manager that springs to mind, as he managed to beat Manchester City in his very first game in charge of Southampton, despite not being able to speak English.
