?Arsenal manager Unai Emery has claimed that he did not listen to what Watford captain Troy Deeney had to say in their interaction after the latter’s dismissal, but said that it does not matter even if he appeared to curse.

Deeney was shown the red card early in the game between the two teams, reducing the home team to just ten men for about 80 minutes of the game.

I didn't see the red card.

"I didn't listen to him," Emery said, according to Goal.

Emery, however, has dismissed the incident and said that he only told Deeney that he did not see the clash between him and Lucas Torreira and so couldn’t be sure if it was a red card or not.

It is likely Deeney will face further punishment apart from the three-game ban for appearing to curse Emery on his way out.

Arsenal are now in fourth place in the Premier League standings, and have the opportunity to go further up when Tottenham Hotspur play Manchester City next weekend.
