Freddie Ljungberg says his suit was 'at the dry cleaners' after he was criticised for wearing a tracksuit during his first match as Arsenal interim manager.

“No, I have seen the Premier League and seen coaches in a tracksuit, coaches with a suit, and I have seen coaches with a sweater, so I will decide on a matchday what I will use.

After the match, former Manchester United star Paul Scholes hit out at the Swede, insisting he should have been wearing a suit during his debut match as Arsenal manager.

"Of course I'm very proud to have this opportunity but the future will tell what happens.”

Ljungberg was in the dugout at Carrow Road for the 2-2 draw with Norwich on Sunday, wearing a club tracksuit as he watched his side for the first time.

“It was so quick, the suit was at the dry cleaners so I couldn’t get it ready,” joked Ljungberg.

“We will see if I have one or not, we haven’t had one fitted yet with the club suit but I can’t see that is a discussion but I will make sure you know what I wear.” Arsenal are actively looking for a full-time appointment following the decision to relieve Unai Emery of his duties last week.
