Freddie Ljungberg takes charge of his first home game as Arsenal head coach against Brighton and Hove Albion on Thursday night.

Speaking ahead of the game, Ljungberg will have delighted Arsenal with comments regarding his Emirates Stadium bow as interim head coach.

"At the Emirates, fans want us to play good football and that’s the only way to get them going."

The north London outfit welcome the Seagulls to the Emirates Stadium in the final game of midweek action in the Premier League as they seek to end a poor run of eight games without a win across all competitions.

Ljungberg was in the dugout for that game as the Spaniards' assistant head coach.

In the corresponding meeting between Arsenal and Brighton last season it was a 1-1 draw in a game which effectively killed the Gunners' hope of sealing a top four finish.

"When I made my national team debut, my debut here (as a player) and my debut as a manager at Norwich are probably the proudest moments I've ever had."
