UEFA will pledge their full support to Henrikh Mkhitaryan's VISA request should Arsenal reach the final of this season's Europa League.

The former Manchester United star was not included in Arsenal's squad for the group stage clash against Qarabag earlier in the competition prompting the manager of the Azerbaijani club to accuse the Gunners of being 'afraid'.

This year's final is to be staged in Baku prompting fears Mkhitaryan will again be denied access to the country which endures a hostile political relationship with his native Armenia.

According to ESPN the 30-year-old will be backed by Europe's governing body should Arsenal go one stage further than they did last season when they were knocked out by Atletico Madrid.

Mkhitaryan has made nine appearances in the Europa League this season and was introduced as a late substitute in last week's 2-0 quarter final first leg win over Napoli.

Should Unai Emery's men complete the job in Naples on Thursday, they are likely to meet Valencia in the last four after Marcelino's side, which boasts former Gunners Gabriel Paulista and Francis Coquelin, after they beat Villarreal 3-1 at El Madrigal a week ago.
