The Italian champions are on the verge of completing the signing of the Welshman upon the expiry of his contract.

A deal had been on the table for Ramsey to extend his Arsenal contract, but the club made the collective decision to retract the offer.

As he enters the final six months of his contract, the 28-year-old has been able to talk to other clubs about his future.

According to the BBC, Ramsey held discussions with Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan as well as the Old Lady.

Now reports in Italy claim that Massimiliano Allegri is willing to offer Mehdi Benatia to ensure the deal is completed.

Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that Juventus are open to letting the Moroccan leave the club with Unai Emery keen on the defender.

The Gunners are desperate to add a centre-back to their squad but funds remain limited.

Emery revealed that they will only be able to sign loan players this January.

“We can’t pay for anyone. We can only sign loan players,” he said.

“I know the club is working on the possibility of bringing in a player who can help us now with big performances.”

Benatia has fallen out of favour after Leonardo Bonucci was re-signed from AC Milan.

Despite his lack of game time, Benatia insisted he’ll be ready if required in the second half of the season.

“If [Juventus] need me in the Champions League, I will make myself ready, but I can hardly play a game every so often,” he told La Stampa.

“Last year I did well because I had more continuity. Unfortunately, now I do not have it.

“Part of my job is that I always have to work to make myself ready, but it is not a pleasant situation.”
