Arsene Wenger believes Freddie Ljungberg could be the perfect man to turn around Arsenal's miserable season.

Asked if he had spoken to former Arsenal boss Wenger, he replied: "No (not yet).

However Emery was sacked last week after a torrid season so far and has been replaced by interim boss Ljungberg, who has been tasked with reviving the Gunners' season.

Wenger ultimately saw his 22-year reign come to an emotional conclusion at the end of the 2017/18 campaign, and was replaced by Spanish boss Unai Emery.

And he probably has some things that he thinks are important that he can share with me and make me a better coach.

Wenger, 70, won three Premier League titles, including in 2003-04 when his ‘Invincibles’ - with Ljungberg among that squad - went unbeaten for an entire season.

The 42-year-old said Wenger, who brought Ljungberg to Arsenal as a player back in 1998, could offer valuable experience as he looks to build his own career.
