Bayern Munich are reportedly weighing up a bid for Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno to replace veteran stopper Manuel Neuer.

The Germany international star kept a clean sheet on Saturday as Bayern crushed rivals Bayern Munich 4-0 to move back to with four points of the Bundesliga summit.

Neuer, who has made over 200 league appearances for the Bavarians, turns 34 in March and has only recently come back from metatarsal injury which ruled him out for nearly 10 months.

Caretaker manager Hansi Flick has taken charge of Bayern following the dismissal of Niko Kovac.

The German joined the north London club from Bayer Leverkusen in 2018 and has firmly established himself as the club’s No.1 following the retirement of Petr Cech.

Largely due to the poor performances of his defence in front of him, Leno has kept just eight clean sheets from 48 Premier League appearances since joining the club, but on the whole he has impressed between the sticks.

The stopper still has four years remaining on his current contract, however, according to The Sun, the German champions will turn their attention to the Arsenal star in the summer.
