After a nail-biting win against Sheffield United in the FA Cup, Arsenal will be hoping to keep their recently-found going when they face bottom side Norwich City at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.

Mikel Arteta’s men got a win at Southampton before the FA Cup tie, and have improved considerably after two consecutive defeats at the start of the season resumption.

Though Norwich are at the bottom of the table, they still have a decent team and could cause Arsenal some problems going forward. Remember, the reverse fixture produced a thrilling 2-2 draw.

In terms of injury news, Arteta welcomes Cedric Soares back to full fitness, while David Luiz and Mesut Ozil are major doubts for this game. Lucas Torreira is yet to recover from his injury.

That all being said, here’s how we think the manager will line his XI up:

GK - Emiliano Martinez

In the continued absence of Bernd Leno, Martinez is certain to be in goal against the Canaries.

RCB - Shkodran Mustafi

Arteta is predicted to stick with his three at the back system. Mustafi has done well in the past few games and deserves to start on the right-hand side of the three.

CB - Sokratis

Sokratis is back fully fit and should slot in at the back. With Luiz out, the Greek international has a chance to stamp his place in the XI.

LCB - Rob Holding

Holding has done a good job in the last two games and has earned his place in the side. We should see him in action against Norwich on Wednesday.

RWB - Cedric Soares

Bellerin’s form hasn’t improved in the four games since resumption. For that reason, fit again Cedric may get a start ahead of him at right wing-back.

CM - Granit Xhaka

Xhaka has been Arsenal’s best player in their previous two games which they won. The Swiss international has an important role to play in this team. He is probably one of the first names on the teamsheet now.

CM - Dani Ceballos

After coming on and scoring the winner on Sunday, Ceballos should be a confident player now. He is predicted to partner Xhaka in central midfield this midweek.

LWB - Kieran Tierney

After slotting in as a third centre-back in the past two games, Tierney is anticipated to get a chance of playing in his favoured left wing-back position against Norwich.

RW - Nicolas Pepe

Pepe has looked better as the games have gone by since the resumption. He has surely done enough to keep his place in starting XI come Wednesday evening.

ST - Eddie Nketiah

After doing well in the previous league game against Southampton, Nketiah is predicted to retain his place as the team’s striker.

LW - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

The captain didn’t start on Sunday as he had a rest. He should be fresh now and start on Wednesday.

The Gabon international generally plays on the left-hand side, tucking in centrally and causing problems to defenders. He scored a brace in the reverse fixture back in November.
