Unai Emery fears Arsenal defender Rob Holding will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury sustained in Wednesday night's draw at Manchester United.

The worst was feared after Holding suffered the injury during the first half of Wednesday's 2-2 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford and has now been confirmed.

A statement on arsenal.com read: "Further to the injury sustained during our match at Manchester United on Wednesday night, we can confirm that Rob Holding has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee.

Those players not involved at Old Trafford trained yesterday morning.

Former France defender Laurent Koscielny could come into the matchday squad after twice playing for Arsenal Under-23s, either on Saturday or next week against Qarabag in the Europa League.

Midfielder Aaron Ramsey (ankle) is a doubt for tomorrow's Premier League clash with Huddersfield, which Mesut Ozil is expected to miss out due to a back problem.

"He's working with us every day in training and playing in the Under-23s with good feeling."
