The interim Arsenal boss wore a shirt and jumper for his first game in charge at Norwich on Sunday and Paul Scholes took exception.

Asked if he had spoken to former Arsenal boss Wenger, he replied: “No (not yet).

Freddie Ljungberg says he will decide on matchdays what he wears after being criticised this week for his dress sense.

“You would think he’d be out in a suit to show a bit of proudness that he took the job,” Scholes told Premier League Productions.

He’s a great coach, it’s been a long time, and I hope I can speak to him soon.”

“I’ve seen coaches with a tracksuit, with a suit, a sweater so I’ll decide on matchday what I’ll use.

I don’t think he’ll be the right man.” The Manchester United man’s comments were put to Ljungberg at today’s news conference and he explained his decision not to wear a suit on his Arsenal managerial debut.
