'It's time to win': Carlo Ancelotti vows to end Everton's miserable away record against the top six as Italian confirms they are thinking about Europe next seasonAncelotti was made aware of Everton's poor away record against the top sixThe Italian joked he was going to cry as he learned they had not won in 37 gamesHe also confirmed the Blues are still targeting a place in Europe next seasonThe Blues travel to Arsenal on Sunday and could have Andre Gomes available

Carlo Ancelotti will demand a change in mentality from Everton's players to bring an end to their troubles at top six venues.

Everton have played 37 games away to the Manchester clubs, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Sunday's opponents Arsenal since December 2013 but they have failed to win once, their record being 12 draws and 25 defeats.

Ancelotti was handed a piece of paper detailing the sequence at his press briefing and was taken aback by the results as he studied them; he made light of the situation, quipping: "I could cry!", but he then made a serious observation.

The Blues have failed to win in their last 37 away fixtures against the country's best clubs

There has been a dramatic change in Everton's fortunes since Ancelotti arrived and they are now being spoken of as possible European contenders but with trips to Stamford Bridge and Tottenham following Sunday's date at the Emirates, the Italian wants to see an immediate improvement.

'Not one victory? Wow! I'm going to cry! It's time to win, then,' said Ancelotti. 'We want to think about Europe next season. It is obvious to say that these next four games (Arsenal, Chelsea, United, Liverpool) are vital for us. They are really important.

'The more points we can get the more possibility of qualifying for the Europa League. The players know these games are more important than others - in these four games you can test how good we are. I think we are good but after that it is results that judge you.'

Andre Gomes, who suffered a fracture dislocation of his ankle on November 3, is fit to play after coming through a week of intensive training but he will hold talks with Ancelotti about whether it is prudent to start.

The Italian said they want to think about playing in Europe next season as they close in on fifth

Ancelotti will name him the Portugal international in his starting line-up if he gives the right signals; the 60-year-old drew on an experience from his own playing career and he had to remind many of his squad, due to their youth, that he had played top level football.

'I asked the players if they had seen more play in the past and no-one said they had!' said Ancelotti. But I was injured for two years. When I started to think about coming back to play I was happy to start the game (rather than come on as a sub) because I could prepare properly before the game.

'In my personal opinion, to go on the pitch form the bench was not so easy for me. But this is a decision for Andre. If Andre wants to start he is ready to start. But together we will take a decision... ok he can go on the bench and start the next game.'
