Jadon Sancho would prefer to join Liverpool over Manchester United, claims ESPN reporter Mark Ogden. However, Ogden says Arsenal are also interested in Sancho and Manchester City would welcome him back to the Etihad. The Borussia Dortmund star is reportedly unhappy at the Bundesliga club.

Ogden doubts Liverpool will attempt to sign Sancho in January though and expects a bidding war for the England sensation next summer.

“I don’t think it will happen in January,” Ogden told ESPN FC.

“It doesn’t really stack up for Sancho if he’s not happy at Dortmund, he’s not playing games and he goes to Anfield in January - when’s he going to play?

“You’ve got Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah, I don’t think he gets in ahead of those three.

“There is a bit of a market, bit of a chase hotting up for Sancho.

“Man United are keen but obviously I think Liverpool would be a more favourable option for him than United at the moment.

“City would take him back if they had the chance and I think that Arsenal is also a team that is interested Sancho.

“So at the end of the season, when he’s easier to get him in the club, I think that there will be a real chase for him.

“There's nothing to say about it, which can mean there's absolutely nothing to say about it.

“For us it is always the same. We don't speak about it but we are pretty much always ready to [buy players] if it will help us.

“If not, then not. We will see. I think the summer window is more difficult because of the different moments when it closes in Europe.

“It only hurts English clubs - we can only buy until a specific moment, other clubs can buy into the season.”
