Boubakary Soumare will reportedly make a decision on his future before the January transfer window closes, with Manchester United and Chelsea the frontrunners for his signature. 

The Lille midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League, but Arsenal are no longer in the running while for La Liga sides Real Madrid and Valencia have also dropped out of the race.

United and Chelsea have both been in negotiations over signing the impressive 20-year-old, but no decision will be made before Lille's Ligue 1 clash against PSG on January 26, according to Sky Sports. 

Boubakary Soumare is set to choose choose between Manchester United and Chelsea

Soumare, who played against Chelsea in the Champions League group stage, is a box-to-box midfielder and has been likened to United midfielder Paul Pogba. 

The Frenchman, who is yet to be capped for the senior national team, has made 25 appearances in all competitions for Lille this season.  

Soumare played six times in the Champions League as Lille crashed out in the group phase 

He came through the youth system at PSG, before moving to Lille in 2017 to pursue a spot in the first-team. 

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was believed to be courting the 20-year-old in order to bolster his midfield but that interest has now reportedly been dropped. 

Lille are currently fifth in Ligue 1 and finished bottom of their Champions League group with just one point from six games.
