Arsenal supporters have taken to social media after reports of midfielder Matteo Guendouzi being put up for sale this summer.

The Athletic are reporting that the Frenchman is a potential candidate to be sold when the transfer window reopens in order to raise funds so that head coach Mikel Arteta can bolster his squad in other areas.

Furthermore, the report claims that Ainsley Maitland-Niles is also likely to be sold.

In relation to Guendouzi, it's claimed that the decision to consider offers for him is because of his disciplinary issues this season.

Back in February The Athletic revealed that the Frenchman's omission from the matchday squad against Newcastle United was due to Guendouzi being deemed the aggressor in a clash with an unnamed teammate.

And there was reportedly more disciplinary action for the midfielder.

It's claimed that the club's technical director Edu had some strong words for the 20-year-old for a separate incident.

Guendouzi allegedly 'removed his shirt at an external event and waved it around in support of a local music act'.

However, reports of him being sold this summer has garnered a strong reaction from supporters.

Many Arsenal fans have a differing stance. Some fans can't believe what Raul Sanllehi and Edu have planned for Guendouzi as they're adamant that he will improve.

A line under Guendouzi''s disciplinary issues appeared to have been drawn, with Arteta explaining his decision to drop Guendouzi against Newcastle.

"I just do my selection in regard to how they train, play and behave," the Spaniard revealed during his pre-Olympiacos press conference.

"It was about the way we train."
