Yesterday saw Samir Nasri make his Premier League return against Arsenal.

Prior to yesterday, the last time Nasri played in the competition was against West Ham for Manchester City back in August 2016, and it’s fair to say the Frenchman hasn’t lost it.

Manuel Pellegrini deserves all of the credit for making the move to sign the player after his ban ended, and after getting his first Premier League assist in a West Ham shirt, he will now be looking for his first goal in claret and blue when they travel to face Bournemouth next week.

You can read the Hammers’ thoughts on Nasri’s return here: The Hammers love the idea of Nasri flying for them and will be desperate for him to continue the way he’s started.

The game was decided by a Declan Rice goal in the second half and the young defensive midfielder deserves all the credit he’s been getting, but at the same time he’s been taking a lot of the attention away from the Irons 31-year-old January import, and he was the man who set up the winning goal.

The Frenchman signed for the club after an 18-month ban for doping.

Nasri still has a lot of promise and a lot to offer in Engish football, and he proved that yesterday.
