Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos conceded his side lacked creativity in their 1-0 defeat at West Ham on Saturday but refused to be drawn on whether the presence of Mesut Ozil might have aided them in crafting opportunities.

Though fully fit after a week training with the first team, Ozil was not named in Unai Emery's matchday squad at the London Stadium as Arsenal fell to Declan Rice's goal early in the second half and failed to mount a convincing comeback.

The Gunners dominated possession away from home, having 59 per cent of the ball, but created as many shots on goal as West Ham (11) and only twice forced Lukasz Fabianski into a save.
