Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho wants a double signing in JanuaryArsenal suffer a blow in the hunt for one of their key targetsManchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted at his January plansAll the latest updates with the January transfer window fast approachingTrending Eriksen attraction

Christian Eriksen is said to be attracted by a possible move to Manchester United after informing Jose Mourinho of his intention to leave Tottenham.

The Spurs playmaker has told Jose Mourinho that he will not be signing a new deal as he tries to find a new challenge, and could be gone in January.

However, The Athletic have claimed that Mourinho’s appointment after Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking has not changed his mind over a move, and Old Trafford could be his next destination.

The report claims that United chiefs failed in a late attempt to sign the Denmark international at the end of the summer transfer window but could revisit that next month.

It adds that Eriksen himself is not opposed to a deal despite their position of ninth in the table, which could see Ed Woodward approach his rival Daniel Levy to open talks.

The Red Devils manager said that injuries have affected the team, and that those returning to action may feel like new signings.

Solskjaer said: “I don’t wanna talk about all the injuries we’ve had.

“But when you get Scott [McTominay] back, when you get Paul [Pogba] back… We have been light in midfield, with three out for such a long time and that’s affected us.”

Jose Mourinho reportedly wants to sign two new players in January in his first transfer window as Spurs boss.

The Telegraph claim that Mourinho is eyeing a back-up striker to Harry Kane and a defender to bolster his back-line.

Spurs allowed Fernando Llorente to leave in the summer with the likes of Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min providing support to Kane up front.

Mourinho is also keen to strengthen a defence that has allowed 21 goals in during the Premier League season so far.

United have been linked with Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly for some time now, due to their problems at the back.

Solskjaer is expected to dip into the transfer market this summer, but is believed to be prioritising a move for a new striker instead of defensive reinforcements.

And that could hand the advantage to Real Madrid, who are said to be preparing a bid for Koulibaly - according to CalcioMercato.

The Senegalese star is valued highly by Napoli, but the 11-time Champions League winners are believed to want him as a long-term successor to Sergio Ramos.
