Manchester United are interested in bringing Newcastle star Sean Longstaff to Old Trafford.

Sky Sports claim United have already made ‘initial inquiries’ to sign the 21-year-old midfielder.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to bolster his ranks with young, home-grown talent in this summer’s transfer window.

And Longstaff, who earned plenty of praise during his nine Premier League appearances this season, is high on the Norwegian’s list of targets.

Manchester United have been backed to lose as many as eight first-team players in the summer as boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to overhaul his struggling squad.

Sky Sports pundit James Cooper believes a mass exodus could be on the cards after a disappointing season in which United finished sixth and failed to qualify for the Champions League.

“After bidding farewell to the likes of Antonio Valencia and Ander Herrera, there are also major question marks hanging over the futures of Juan Mata, Matteo Darmian, Eric Bailly, and Marcos Rojo,” he said.

"The big guns may not be safe either with the reputations of some of the club's most well-rewarded figures, Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, David De Gea and Alexis Sanchez severely dented by an end of season run amounting to two wins from their final 12 games.”

Transfer News: Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Barcelona latest updates (Image: REUTERS)10:15 UPDATE: Tony Pulis leaves Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough have parted company with manager Tony Pulis after the club missed out on the Championship play-offs.

The club confirmed on Friday morning that Pulis' contract would not be renewed, ending an 18-month reign on Teesside.

A club statement said: "Middlesbrough FC can confirm that the contract of manager Tony Pulis will not be extended."

10:00 UPDATE: Alexandre Lacazette to Atletico

Atletico Madrid are eyeing a blockbuster deal for Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette.

That’s according to Spanish media outlet Cadena Ser, who claim Diego Simeone wants the Frenchman to replace Barcelona-bound Antoine Griezmann.

Griezmann signed a five-year deal with Atletico last summer and the release clause in his contract will drop to a fee of around £104million on July 1.

With plenty of cash to splash and Champions League football confirmed for next season - interest in Lacazette will provide a fresh headache for Unai Emery.

Arsenal are ready to make their first dip into this summer’s transfer market.

Unai Emery’s Gunners still have a Europa League final to prepare for but that hasn’t delayed transfer activity.

Italian outlet Calciomercato claim Arsenal are ready to make Gremio star Walter Kannemann their first signing of the summer.

The Argentine defender, 28, is looking to leave Gremio and is viewed as a cheaper alternative to Samuel Umtiti or Matthijs de Ligt.

The Gunners have reportedly submitted a £10.5million offer and are awaiting a response from Gremio.

Transfer News: Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Barcelona latest updates (Image: GETTY)09:30 UPDATE: Wilfried Zaha condition

Wilfried Zaha would be willing to rejoin the Red Devils if they bid big for him this summer, according to reports.

Manchester United signed Zaha from Crystal Palace in January 2013, with the Ivory Coast international becoming Sir Alex Ferguson’s last-ever signing for the club.

However, the forward failed to his £10million price-tag, playing just four games under David Moyes before being sold back to Palace for a paltry £6m.

Despite that, however, the Telegraph say Zaha is open to returning to United this summer.

It is said he feels he has ‘unfinished business’ at the club and he would back himself to be a success should he go back.

United would, though, have to make a sizeable bid in the region of £100million but a deal could be struck in the region of £70m.

Transfer News: Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Barcelona latest updates (Image: GETTY)09:15 UPDATE: Nicolas Pepe talks

Manchester United have held talks with Lille directors over a potential transfer deal for Nicolas Pepe, according to Duncan Castles.

Pepe has been backed to move to Manchester United amid their need for attacking stardust, with the club’s current forwards not up to scratch.

And, now, journalist Duncan Castles has claimed the Red Devils enquired to Lille directors about the forward.

“One of the clubs interested in Pepe [that] have expressed an interest to Lille is Manchester United,” he told The Transfer Window podcast.

“I’m told that last week a phone call went in to one of the Lille directors to enquire about the cost of a transfer for Pepe, who’s been outstanding in the French division this year, scoring goals and creating goals with a great deal of pace, actually a very good fit to what Manchester United would need on the right wing, to ask whether he would be available for sale.”

Transfer News: Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Barcelona latest updates (Image: GETTY)09:00 UPDATE: Roberto Firmino stance

Liverpool will reportedly not consider selling Roberto Firmino this season despite rumoured interest from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel reportedly sees Firmino as a long-term replacement for Edinson Cavani, who could leave Paris this summer.

But the BBC report that it’s a deal that Liverpool won’t even consider and that the Reds will keep hold of the Brazilian.

Liverpool are expected to have a quiet transfer window with a few fringe players likely to depart.

Transfer News: Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Barcelona latest updates (Image: REUTERS)08:45 UPDATE: Matthijs de Ligt transfer update

Matthijs de Ligt’s future is in his own hands but Barcelona are confident of tempting him to Spain and could even make an announcement in the coming weeks.

That’s according to Spanish football insider Guillem Balague.

The colossal centre-back has long been expected to move on from Ajax this summer with Barcelona, Manchester United, PSG and Liverpool among the clubs rumoured to be interested in him.

And Balague, asked about De Ligt’s future on his ‘Ask Guillem’ YouTube series, said: “De Ligt, of course, is possibly going to Barcelona.

“There’s been meetings between Barcelona and [De Ligt’s agent] Mino Raiola in recent weeks and also Barcelona and Ajax.

“They’re willing to pay about €70m (£61m), Ajax are happy with that. It’s now down to the player where he wants to go to.”

Transfer News: Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Barcelona latest updates (Image: GETTY)08:30 UPDATE: Agent confirms Liverpool talks

Liverpool have made contact with the agent of Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, according to the player’s representative Erdi Kirkpinar.

Cakir has established himself as the Turkish club’s No 1 keeper since November, keeping five clean sheets in 20 Super Lig appearances for the fourth-placed outfit.

Liverpool are on the look-out for a new back-up shot-stopper to undisputed first-choice Alisson with Simon Mignolet expected to depart Anfield this summer.

And Kirkpinar, speaking to Ajansspor, claims Liverpool are lining up 23-year-old Cakir as the keeper to come in and provide back-up to Alisson.

“Liverpool are also interested in him. Liverpool officials have talked with us, we had some contacts, but no official offer has come from them,” he claimed.

Transfer News: Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Barcelona latest updates (Image: GETTY)08:15 UPDATE: Frank Lampard to Chelsea

Roman Abramovich is ready to replace Maurizio Sarri with club legend Frank Lampard, according to reports.

Sarri has had his critics at Stamford Bridge this season but, despite that, has steered them to a third-placed Premier League finish and the Europa League final.

Despite that - Sport Mediaset claim Abramovich could sack Sarri to bring Lampard home.

The Russian supposedly feels that Sarri’s damaged relationship with Chelsea fans may be too tricky to repair.

07:45 UPDATE: Man Utd record contract offer

Manchester United should NOT be held to ransom by goalkeeper David de Gea.

That’s the opinion of the editor of United fanzine United We Stand, Andy Mitten.

De Gea, 28, has one year remaining on his Old Trafford contract and talks over a new deal have stalled - despite United’s offer making him the best paid goalkeeper in the world.

"The situation with David de Gea is that United have offered him a contract which would make him the best paid goalkeeper in the world and that is not enough. The agents' fees are alarming,” Mitten told Sky Sports.

“He has been offered a deal to become the best paid goalkeeper in the world and it's not enough. I don't think United should just succumb to every agent's demands just because the fans are saying 'pay him whatever'. You can't just do that.

Transfer News: Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Barcelona latest updates (Image: GETTY)07:00 UPDATE: Auba and Laca latest

Arsenal fans’ fears over the futures of striking duo Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette have been eased by Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

Aubameyang has been tipped by Spanish media to make a move to Real Madrid for in excess of £74million, while Lacazette admitted it has been flattering to be linked with Barcelona.

Asked by one fan on his YouTube series ‘Ask Guillem’ whether there was truth to the rumours Real could sign Aubameyang and Barca were watching Lacazette, Balague said: “No. No. Neither of them are wanted by both teams.”
