Highly-rated young attackers Bukayo Saka and Xavier Amaechi trained with the Arsenal first-team as they vie for places in Unai Emery's matchday squad for the Europa League final.

UEFA confirmed last year that finalists in both the Champions League and Europa League would be able to name 12 substitutes.

Saka, 17, made his first-team debut in November and featured in three Premier League matchday squads over the festive period, making his top flight debut in a 4-1 win over Fulham on New Year's Day.

The duo have been among the outstanding performers in Freddie Ljungberg's Under-23 side this season and could be among the 23 that Emery will have to choose from when his side take on Chelsea in Baku later this month.

football.london understands that Arsenal requested England leave Amaechi and Saka out of consideration for youth internationals this month, though that is not necessarily a guarantee that they will be among the squad.

Eddie Nketiah and Joe Willock, both of whom played in Sunday's 3-1 season-ending win at Burnley, also joined the first-team and they are likely to be part of the travelling squad.
