Unai Emery is adamant he’s the right man to lead Arsenal’s pursuit of Champions League football despite their defeat at Leicester on Saturday.

When asked if the players are reacting to what he’s saying, Emery said: “Yes, very good attitude.

Arsenal have also failed to win in their last five matches in all competitions and Emery’s status as manager is under increasing threat.

“When we win they [the fans] are going to be happy and this is my challenge now.” And when asked whether Arsenal still had a chance of making it into the top four, Emery said: “Yes of course.

And when they scored the first goal, maybe that was the difference… “We lost, that is clear but they [Leicester] are at home and are feeling strong.

He told talkSPORT: “I know when we’re losing the supporters aren’t happy but I know we’re going to work to recover that situation.

“If we scored in the first half then maybe the match would be better for us.
